USPA NEWS - After a long weekend of basketball, on Saturday afternoon the Maximum Basketball League was down to its final 2 teams to see who would be called champions.
This game was definitely one for the ages as the people in person and sitting at home got a chance to witness two high powered organizations on the floor at the same time. The Legends advanced to the title game by knocking off the Cinderella sensation Albany Goodlife BC, who had just knocked off the Defending champs, Michigan Avengers the day before. Meanwhile the DFW Gorillas have yet to suffer a defeat in the regular season or playoffs, so the fans were bracing for some fireworks. As the game got started it seemed like the Legends came out flat as they didn't have an answer for Dallas high-powered offense as Scott/Rabb and McGee were scoring at will. Headed into the break the home town Legends were searching for answers as they found themselves down 65-50. As you know coach Tivon Mcgivens (Legends) has stressed all season that his team is a second half team but however the Gorillas hasn't lost a game all year. DFW came out hot after the half as they pushed the lead to almost 30 points at onetime before Jalen Catledge (Legends) started to put on a clinic. After trailing 97-85 entering the 4th The Legends went on a 38-24 spurt to claim the MBL title 123-121.
